Join us at a Repair Fair in 2025!
Zero Waste Marin is working on a pilot program with non-profit Reuse Alliance to bring free Repair Fairs to Marin County!
What is a Repair Fair?
Repair Fairs are free events where community members can bring an item (lamp, bike, clothes, small appliances, etc.) for free repair. Rather than leaving and retuning later to pick up their item, attendees sit with a Repair Coach who explains their approach to fixing the item. Repair Fairs keep useful items out of the landfill and spread knowledge and love of reuse and repair!
When can I attend a Repair Fair?
- Saturday, February 8th: Corte Madera Community Center
- Saturday, March 8th: Novato City Hall
- Saturday, March 15th: Mill Valley Community Center
- Saturday, April 5th: Sausalito City Hall
- Saturday, May 31st: AJ Boro Community Center
- Saturday, June 28th: Fairfax Public Library
- July TBD: Point Reyes Station
- Saturday, August 16th: Marin City Library Lab
- Saturday, September 13th: San Anselmo Library
How do I register an item to be fixed?
We encourage you to pre-register items you would like to have fixed at a Repair Fair; you can do so by finding the event you want to attend at: https://www.reusealliance.org/events. Forget to pre-register? We also take walk-ins!
How do I volunteer as a Repair Coach?
We would love to have you volunteer as a Repair Coach! Don’t feel comfortable fixing, but still want to help out? There are also volunteer opportunities to help with check-in, check-out, Clothing Swap, and more! Fill out the volunteer intake form at https://www.reusealliance.org/rf-volunteer, or email volunteer@reusealliance.org.

Remember to ask for your order "for here"!
Looking to reduce landfill waste in 2025? If you are planning to hang out at your favorite cafe or restaurant, don't forget to ask for your order "for here" to avoid single-use items and landfill waste!

Pilot Program: Reusables at the Thursday Civic Center Farmers' Market!
Zero Waste Marin is running a pilot program with Sparkl Reusables and AIM to bring reusable foodware to the Thursday Civic Center Farmers' Market! Participating prepared food vendors will be able to offer customers the opportunity to use reusable foodware from now through March. We will then assess this pilot program and opportunities to continue!

Get a free food dehydrating bin!
Zero Waste Marin is running a pilot program with Mill to make recycling your food scraps easier. The Mill food recycler shrinks your food scraps by 80%, works while you sleep, and turns them into nutrient-rich grounds that can be easily emptied into your Zero Waste Marin compost bin. The best part? It takes weeks to fill, which means fewer trips to the curb.
Who qualifies?
Up to 125 Marin residents and organizations may receive a free Mill food recycler (retail value of $999), if meeting one of the following criteria:
- Low-income resident (single- or multi-family housing), or
- Non-profit organization serving Marin
Participants will also be asked to complete surveys about their experience to help Zero Waste Marin understand the effectiveness of the pilot program.
Learn more at www.mill.com/marin.
