Join Zero Waste Marin for North Bay Zero Waste Week, October 12th – 19th! Zero Waste Week was started three years ago by Zero Waste Sonoma as a way to bring zero waste events to the community. Zero Waste Marin is participating for the first time this year, and we are excited to be hosting a variety of different events. We hope to see you there!
Clothing Swap - Saturday, October 12th from 2pm - 5pm
Join us at the Rohnert Park Clothing Swap at the Rohnert Park Cotati Regional Library! Donate usable, clean clothes and potentially go home with something “new” to you, without creating more textile waste! Compost Giveaway - Sunday, October 13th starting at 9am
Come to the Marin County Civic Center on Sunday, October 13th to grab some free compost! Zero Waste Marin will have 20 yards of organic, local compost to give away next to the AIM San Rafael Farmers Market; first come, first served, for Marin residents only. Pick-up and use of compost is at your own risk. Bring your own shovel and container to gather compost.
Film Screenings: Common Ground - Various Dates
Join Zero Waste Marin during North Bay Zero Waste Week for a film screening of the movie Common Ground! Common Ground explores the current issues with our food system, and considers how regenerative agriculture and improving soil health can help address these challenges. Join Zero Waste Marin for a discussion and screening of the film to get inspired!

The Zero Waste 101 Webinar will help you learn about the history of zero waste, the connection between compost and climate, and how to make your lifestyle more zero waste.
Tour of WM EarthCare Compost Facility - Friday, October 18th at 10am
Have you ever wondered what happens to the food scraps and plant trimmings you place in your green bin? These organic materials are transported and then composted at large industrial facilities in the North Bay Area. If you'd like to see the process in action, join us for a tour at the WM Redwood EarthCare Composting facility in Novato - this is where the majority of Marin's compost is processed!
