The Southern Marin Scoop
COVID VACCINE UPDATE AND RELATED NEWS
Please Share Widely:
Dear Southern Marin Friends,
I have some positive news to share: As of Sunday, 82% of Marin's 75-and-better residents and 69% of our residents age 65-74 have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Marin has the second highest rate of vaccination in the entire state, just behind Napa County, and we will continue to be in this strong position with the new supplies of vaccines we expect to receive in the coming weeks.
Considering the obstacles we've faced over the course of this pandemic, and the slow vaccine rollout due to insufficient supply, high demand, and lack of a national strategy, let us take a moment to recognize this is wonderful news and great progress!
Let us also look to the future together: for the latest on vaccine eligibility, financial support for individuals and businesses, and other COVID-related news, please read on.

State System Replaces Marin's Vaccination Interest Form
|
|
The State has created MyTurn, an online system where you can register to be notified when you become eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. This same system will allow you to sign up for a vaccination appointment once you are eligible and vaccine supplies allow. Please take a few minutes to sign up now at MyTurn.ca.gov, as this system replaces Marin County's Vaccine Interest Form. |

State Begins a Uniform Approach to Eligibility Criteria
Effective March 1, the State announced that "All vaccine providers and local health jurisdictions will move to a uniform, state-directed eligibility criteria, eliminating confusion on who is eligible to receive a vaccine on a county by county basis." Up until now, different counties have moved at different paces for different populations, so this is welcome news.
