Temporary Surface Parking Lot 3 Opens Friday, Adding 69 Downtown Spaces
The City of Manhattan Beach is pleased to announce that the new temporary surface parking Lot 3 will open to the public on Friday, June 6, 2025, providing approximately 69* additional parking spaces in the downtown area.
Located at Morningside Drive and 12th Street—the site of the former Lot 3 parking structure—this interim surface lot will offer free three-hour parking until a kiosk-based payment system is installed later this month.
The temporary lot addresses immediate parking needs following the emergency demolition of the original three-level Lot 3 structure, which was closed in 2024 due to significant structural safety issues identified during routine inspections.
The City is currently developing long-term plans for both the Lot 3 site and the new City property at 400 Manhattan Beach Boulevard. Residents and businesses can follow these planning efforts and provide input on the Project Pulse: Downtown MB webpage.
