This annual gathering provides an opportunity for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to hear directly from civic leaders about the City’s current initiatives and vision for the future.
2025 State of the City Event
Presented by the City of Manhattan Beach and the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce
Manhattan Beach, CA [April 15, 2025] — The City of Manhattan Beach, in collaboration with the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the upcoming 2025 State of the City: Manhattan Beach event. This annual gathering provides an opportunity for residents, business owners, and stakeholders to hear directly from civic leaders about the City’s current initiatives and vision for the future.
The State of the City will take place on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at American Martyrs Church - O'Donnell Hall, 700 15th Street, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. This community-focused event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is requested.
Attendees will hear updates from the City’s leadership and key community partners on topics including public safety, economic development, education, health and wellness, and civic engagement. The following speakers will offer remarks and insights:
- Mayor Amy Thomas Howorth
- David Curry, Chairman of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce
- Talyn Mirzakhanian, City Manager, City of Manhattan Beach
- Rachel Johnson, Chief of Police, Manhattan Beach Police Department
- Dr. John Bowes, Superintendent, Manhattan Beach Unified School District
- Tom Bakaly, Chief Executive Officer, Beach Cities Health District
Immediately following the presentation, the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce will host a networking reception from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM, providing a space for community connection and conversation. The reception is $10 for Chamber members and $20 for non-members. Registration is required for this portion of the event.
