Notice of SB 1215 Covered Battery-Embedded Products Informal Workshop Materials Available
The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding an informal public workshop on July 14, 2026, at 10:00 am.

SB 1215 Statutory Overview
As part of this rulemaking package, CalRecycle is proposing to re-adopt the language that was adopted in the two prior emergency rulemaking packages for SB 1215. Please note that there are two versions of the Draft Regulatory Text available here. The first, referred to as “For Notice Regulation Text,” can be found at this link, and includes a mark-up showing the pre-existing adopted emergency regulation text intended for re-adoption as well as all newly proposed changes. The second, referred to as "For Filing Regulation Text," can be found at this link, and only shows changes to the currently-printed California Code of Regulations (CCR). Since the vast majority of the proposed language is existing regulatory text that is proposed to be readopted, the “For Filing Regulation Text” is provided for the public to more easily ascertain the current changes that are being proposed to the regulations that are currently in effect.
