 Notice of SB 54 Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act Non-Regulatory Public Workshop

The Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) will be holding a non-regulatory public workshop on June 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (PT).
The purpose of this non-regulatory workshop is to solicit feedback from the public, regulated community, and other interested persons regarding draft producer reporting guidance and covered material categories to support implementation of the Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act [Senate Bill (SB) 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022)].
Please review the public notice for additional information on the non-regulatory public workshop, including an agenda, discussion document, and draft guidance documents to give interested parties an opportunity to review the content in advance.

Members of the public will be able to submit general comments and responses both in-person and via Zoom. Questions and feedback may also be submitted prior to and after the workshop by emailing them to packaging@calrecycle.ca.gov with the subject line: SB 54 Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act June 23 Non-Regulatory Workshop. CalRecycle requests that written feedback be submitted by July 13, 2025 to be considered.
