Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act Advisory Board Remote Attendance

Pursuant to the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act [Government Code 11123.5 (c)], CalRecycle is providing at least 24-hour notice that the following advisory board members will be attending the advisory board meeting remotely:

Ajit Perera, Vice President of Post Consumer Operations of Talco Plastics, Inc., Representative of a manufacturer of covered materials
Tedd Ward, Director of Del Norte Waste Management Authority, Nominated by a Statewide Rural County Association
Thomas A. Helme, Co-Founder & Project Director of Valley Improvement Projects, Representative from an environmental justice organization
Wes Carter, President & Co-Founder of Atlantic Packaging Corp, Representative of a manufacturer of covered materials
Rachel Michelin, President & Chief Executive Officer of the California Retailers Association, Representative from a statewide association representing the retail sector
Shane Buckingham, Chief of Staff for Circular Action Alliance, Representative from a producer responsibility organization

On May 30, 2025, CalRecycle will host an Advisory Board meeting for the implementation of SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022). During this meeting, the Advisory Board will discuss:

Review and Provide Input on Proposed Changes to the SB 54 Regulations

Appoint a Panel of Speakers to Represent the Advisory Board at the Upcoming California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) Annual Conference
