Grant applications are due April 8, 2025.
Grant Details
CalRecycle provides the Local Government Waste Tire Amnesty Grant Program to provide funding for tire collection events for the public. We anticipate announcing grant awards during CalRecycle's August Public Meeting.
Funding
- $1,500,000 available for 2025-26 fiscal year with a two-year grant term.
- Up to $40,000 is the maximum available for individual grant awards.
- Up to $90,000 is the maximum available for the joint grant awards.
Project Types
- Amnesty events allow citizens to bring waste tires to convenient locations for proper management.
- Events include a coupon program allowing citizens to bring in waste tires on specified days.

CalRecycle's Farm and Ranch Solid Waste Cleanup and Abatement Grant provides opportunities for the cleanup of illegal disposal sites on farm and ranch property. Applications are due April 2, 2025.
Funding:
- $1,000,000 available for fiscal year (FY) 2024–25
- Up to $200,000 per grant award, with a maximum of $50,000 per site or cleanup project.

- Resource Conservation Districts
- Federally Recognized Tribes as defined in PRC § 48100(d)(1)

The U.S. Forest Service's Community Wildfire Defense Grant assists at-risk local communities and Indian Tribes with planning and mitigating against the risk created by wildfire. Applications are due on March 14, 2025.
