SB 54 Advisory Board Remote Attendance

Pursuant to the Bagley-Keene Open Meeting Act [Government Code 11123.5 (c)], CalRecycle is providing at least 24-hour notice that the following advisory board members will be attending the advisory board meeting remotely:

Ajit Perera, Vice President of Post Consumer Operations of Talco Plastics, Inc., Representative of a manufacturer of covered materials

Thomas A. Helme, Co-Founder & Project Director of Valley Improvement Projects, Representative from an environmental justice organization

Shane Buckingham, EPR Program Planning Lead for Circular Action Alliance, Representative from a producer responsibility organization

Tedd Ward, Director of Del Norte Waste Management Authority, Nominated by a Statewide Rural County Association

Rachel Michelin, President & Chief Executive Officer of the California Retailers Association, Representative from a statewide association representing the retail sector
On October 25th, 2024, CalRecycle will host an Advisory Board meeting for the implementation of SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022). During this meeting, the Advisory Board will review and discuss:
- The Proposed SB 54 Regulations and Advisory Board Comments
- The Advisory Board Recommendations regarding Barriers and Solutions to a Circular Economy, Consistent with SB 54 - Compostability
