September Meeting Notes (pdf)
The IDTAC shifts their focus topic to highlight collaboration and local efforts, and what a key (regional) task force may look like, as requests have been made for information. The City of Richmond kicks-off the effort by sharing their illegal dumping abatement work, which was fast-tracked by receiving CalRecycle Illegal Disposal Site Grants.
‘Illegal dumping involves almost every single department’
Beginning with inception efforts and an overall timeline, the city explains their programs, initiatives, focused strategies/tasks, lessons learned, and their publicly available Transparent Richmond open data platform that shares Illegal Dumping Metrics progress. Community engagement is fruitful for the city, they share tactics and successes with volunteers. The I <3 Richmond Guide provides clarity around programs and resources for residents.
