CalRecycle has published collection method options for future RDRS reporting
In 2024, CalRecycle updated the RDRS regulations based on SB 343 (https://calrecycle.ca.gov/wcs/recyclinglabels/).
SB 343 requires that RDRS obtain information on how facilities collected material that they accepted for or sent to recycling – that is, “collection method.”
Reporting entities must start recording “collection method” as of 1 January 2025, which will be reported in RDRS starting with reporting quarter 2025 Q1. Entities will report collection method by entering the tons associated with different options.
An example table of collection method reporting in RDRS. The table has two columns: collection method and tons.
