SB 54 (Allen, Chapter 75, Statutes of 2022) requires CalRecycle to collaboratively develop a statewide needs assessment to evaluate the actions and investments needed to meet the goals of SB 54: cut California’s single-use plastic packaging and food service ware; increase reuse and refill; and recycle or compost the rest.
CalRecycle is accepting public comments on the SB 54 Needs Assessment and welcomes your feedback. The SB 54 Needs Assessment SmartComment portal is available in Spanish and English.
