The City of Lompoc is urging recreation vehicle owners in the city to ensure their RVs are properly permitted.
Lompoc police have begun issuing parking tickets for RVs without proper city permits in keeping with Lompoc City Council’s direction. However, the City of Lompoc will waive any fees for those RV vehicles without proper permits, if proof of proper RV permits can be shown within 21 days. Permits can be obtained from the Lompoc Police Department during regular business hours.
The City of Lompoc is working towards even safer and cleaner neighborhoods and streets, and properly registered vehicles are an important aspect of that effort.
As a reminder, a safe parking program is available on city-owned property on I Street through New Beginnings. More information on the safe parking program is available at: https://sbnbcc.org/safe-parking/.
We are proud to announce a community groundbreaking ceremony to mark a major investment in public safety technology. This special event will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 12, at Ryon Memorial Park, 800 W. Ocean Ave.
The groundbreaking ceremony signifies the launch of an essential project to replace the city’s aging radio communication system. The new Kenwood Atlas P25 system will deliver advanced communication capabilities to key departments, including police, fire, public works, utilities, and community development.
This $4.6 million project is funded by the City of Lompoc’s general, enterprise, road, and internal service funds.
Key benefits of the new system include: • Improved Interoperability: Seamless communication with regional partners such as the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, Santa Barbara County Regional Fire Dispatch, Vandenberg Space Force Base, and others. • Enhanced Public Safety: Strengthened emergency response capabilities, particularly benefiting the Lompoc Unified School District. • Increased Operational Efficiency: Improved coordination and streamlined communication among city departments.
The City of Lompoc depends on our various city commissions, committees and boards to provide important guidance and direction for the community.
Currently, there are openings on the following commissions: airport, beautification, human services, planning, public safety, utility and youth.
