The City of La Quinta is the premier sponsor of Art on Main Street, which features over 100 artists each season. Meet local artists selling their paintings, jewelry, mixed media, photography, textiles, glass, and more. Celebrate the arts amidst Main Street’s charming cafes and boutiques.

The Don
Art Piece: The Don (1996)
Artist: Bill Ware
Location: Washington St. and Avenue 48
Designed by Bill Ware, the artwork consists of a conquistador "Don" on a horse. The Don is made of brass, bronze, and copper; the horse is made of solid aluminum. The art piece is located on the corner of Avenue 48 and Washington Street at Rancho La Quinta Country Club. It was purchased in May, 1996.

Fritz Burns Pool in La Quinta has plenty to offer visitors of all ages. Available programs include Arthritis Water Therapy, Aqua Fit, Adult Water Aerobic, and open/lap swim. The X Park is open seven days a week! Non-resident fees are $5 for a daily use pass and $50 for an annual pass. Skateboards, bikes, scooters, and rollerblades are welcome! Short-Term Vacation Rental (STVR) information and the weekly STVR Active & Suspended Permit List is available on the City’s website at: https://www.laquintaca.gov/STVR.
Active STVR permit holders can access their account 24/7 to complete their monthly TOT reporting online, submit and pay for STVR permit renewals, as well as easily manage their account by using the City’s online STVR portal at: http://laquinta.munirevs.com.

Staff issued 43 business licenses and collected $5,698.50 for the week January 14th through January 21st.
Permit Center:
The Hub/Permit Services is open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. To make an appointment or for any questions call (760) 777-7125 or via email at customercenter@laquintaca.gov.
Staff received 95 permit applications and issued 71 permits for the week January 14th through January 21st.
Permits include building construction, land use and special events, garage sales, public works encroachment, fire system installations and code compliance inspections.
Building:
Completed 62 Plan Reviews and performed 324 Inspections for the week of January 14th through January 21st.
New Development Updates:
The Planning Commission held its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, where the Commission approved a recommendation for City Council approval of the following project:
Club at Coral Mountain, located within the Andalusia Specific Plan, south of Avenue 58, east and west of Madison Street, and north of Avenue 60, which includes the following:
- A General Plan Amendment and Zone Change to amend the configuration of golf course and low-density residential lands west of Madison Street.
- A Specific Plan Amendment to modify acreage for golf course and low-density residential lands and design guidelines for the west side of Madison Street to allow 750 residential units, a golf course, and 60,000 square feet of retail commercial space.
- A Tentative Tract Map for financing purposes only to subdivide 387± acres into 7 lots.
- A Development Agreement to establish the responsibilities of the Developer relating to this project.
- The Planning Commission also recommended that Council review and implement limitations to allowable Short-Term Vacation Rental permitting.
A Tenant Improvement Permit was issued for a 1,500 square-foot Krak Boba Drink Store at 78995 Highway 111 Suite 2 within the Washington Park Development located on the Southwest Corner of Adams St and Highway 111.

Disaster Preparedness Training Seminar
The Coachella Valley Disaster Preparedness Network (CVDPN) will be conducting a Disaster Preparedness training seminar at the La Quinta Wellness Center on Thursday, February 1, from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Each attendee will receive a free "Ready-to-Go" bag and an educational plan that includes information about:
