2024 American Express PGA Golf Tournament
The American Express PGA Tour event will be held at PGA West and La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, CA from January 15-21, 2024. The musical headline acts are Keith Urban and Train!
Tickets are on sale now! Select from a variety of ticket options and premium passes. Daily passes start at $60! Daily ticket holders also have access to the FREE concerts on Friday, January 19 (Keith Urban) and Saturday, January 20 (Train) that follow the completion of golf on those days.

CV Link Update
An extensive amount of work has been done on the main pathway through La Quinta, and work has started on various connectors, including at Washington Street. In December, lights and benches were installed at the promontory access point and bridge over the La Quinta stormwater channel. The promontory point, where CV Link connects the cities of La Quinta and Indio, near Jefferson Street, is expected to open summer 2024.
CV Link is a planned 40-mile, multi-modal pathway for cycling, walking, jogging and low-speed electric vehicles such as golf carts that will run through much of the Coachella Valley. La Quinta’s portion of CV Link is about 2 miles and runs along the south side of the Coachella Valley stormwater channel (also known as the Whitewater River) from Washington Street to Jefferson Street. When completed it will provide a connection to the Arts and Music Line, which will come down the channel to Avenue 48 and connect La Quinta to the cities of Indio and Coachella. Short-Term Vacation Rental (STVR) information and the weekly STVR Active & Suspended Permit List is available on the City’s website at: https://www.laquintaca.gov/STVR.
Active STVR permit holders can access their account 24/7 to complete their monthly TOT reporting online, submit and pay for STVR permit renewals, as well as easily manage their account by using the City’s online STVR portal at: http://laquinta.munirevs.com.

Art Piece: League Bench (2018)
Artist: Dolan Geiman
Location: La Quinta City Hall Main Lobby
Based in Denver, Colorado, Dolan Geiman creates his modern mixed media artwork from a folk-art tradition infused with a contemporary western style. Working as a full-time artist since 2001 with his wife and business partner Ali Marie, Geiman has achieved nationwide recognition through art fairs, art gallery representation, and commission artwork for private and corporate clients. Past clients include New Balance, Pendleton, YouTube, and over 100 public collections across the country. League bench is constructed from reclaimed baseball gloves and was purchased at the 2018 La Quinta Art Celebration.

The X Park is open seven days a week! Maker Craft: Make A "ZINE" on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. It's a New Year and time for a New Craft! Join the MakerSpace staff as we will teach patrons how to design and create a "ZINE." A "ZINE" is short for FANZINE or Fan Magazine that focuses on a fandom (ex. Book Series), specific topic (ex. Plants) or socio/political opinion.
Zines come in many shapes and sizes, but the most important factor is that they are made by hand and then copied for a small circulation of readers. Patrons will have the option to make a 1-Page Mini-Zine or a 2-Sheet 1/4 Size Zine with the help of our technicians and supplies provided.

Permit Center:

Staff received 113 permit applications and issued 116 permits for the week of December 18th through December 30th.
Permits include building construction, land use and special events, garage sales, public works encroachment, fire system installations and code compliance inspections.

Completed 88 Plan Reviews and performed 653 Inspections for the week of December 18th through December 30th.
New Development Updates:
Building permits were issued for (14) single family dwellings at the Cantera at Coral Mountain community located on Avenue 58 west of Madison Street.
The Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m., where the Commission will consider the following items:
Conditional Use Permit to extend the time period of a previously approved permit for a temporary monopole telecommunications facility at La Quinta Resort.
Site Development Permit for a new mixed-use residential and art/glassblowing studio at 78095 Calle Cadiz in the Village

- Code Compliance has inspected 65 properties, opened 9 cases, closed 28 cases, issued 4 courtesy notices, 6 notices of violation, 3 final notices of violation, 2 notices of public nuisance and 104 other actions and handled 43 phone calls.

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program
Burrtec is collecting Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) items directly from residential households. These HHW items include batteries (in a clear, Ziploc-style bag with both terminals taped), medical sharps, used oil containers, light bulbs, paint, yard chemicals, cleaning chemicals, and electronics.
HHW collections will be made Monday - Friday during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Collections must be scheduled with Burrtec in advance of the pick-up date. Individual households are limited to four (4) HHW collection dates per calendar year. Please visit www.laquintaca.gov/Recycle for more information.
U.S. Flag Drop-Off Box
Residents and businesses that have worn and tattered U.S. Flags, or recently bought a new one, can drop-off their old flags at City Hall. There is a flag drop-off box located near the City Hall main entrance in the South Parking Lot. The drop box was designed by our local Scouts BSA Troop 451.
