City Hall Closed for Christmas and New Year's Holidays
City Hall will be closed in observance of the Christmas Holiday on Friday and Monday, December 22 & 25, 2023. City Hall will reopen on Tuesday, December 26.
City Hall will also be closed for New Year's Day on Monday, January 1, 2024. City Hall will reopen on Tuesday, January 2. Happy holidays and we'll see you next year!
2024 American Express PGA Golf Tournament
The American Express PGA Tour event will be held at PGA West and La Quinta Country Club in La Quinta, CA from January 15-21, 2024. The musical headline acts are Keith Urban and Train!
Tickets are on sale now! Select from a variety of ticket options and premium passes. Daily passes start at $60! Daily ticket holders also have access to the FREE concerts on Friday, January 19 (Keith Urban) and Saturday, January 20 (Train) that follow the completion of golf on those days.

Certified Farmers Market - Open on Christmas Eve
The Certified Farmers Market will be held on Sunday, December 24, from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in Old Town La Quinta. Bring your reusable grocery bags and your appetite because the Certified Farmers Markets are back, bigger, and better than ever before. X Park Christmas Skate Camp
Get ready to take your skateboarding skills to the next level at La Quinta X Park’s Christmas Skate Camp! The camp is the perfect destination for skaters of all levels who want to learn, grow, and have fun in a supportive environment. Experienced instructors will teach campers the basics of skateboarding, as well as more advanced techniques, including park and street skating.
Two different camps are available: Camp 1 is December 26 – 28 (9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.). Camp 2 is January 2 – 4 (9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.). The cost to register is $150. Artist: Mark Lundeen
Location: Caleo Bay Assisted Living and Memory Care
Mark Lundeen is a highly realistic sculptor with a fine sense of detail, and creates sculpture with fluid lines, balance, and integrity. A native of Holdrege, Nebraska, Lundeen was educated at the University of Nebraska in Kearney and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After graduating from college, he spent eight months in Europe studying the old masters. In 1981, he moved to Loveland, Colorado, established his sculpting studio, and began a highly successful career as a sculptor.

The X Park is open seven days a week! Non-resident fees are $5 for a daily use pass and $50 for an annual pass. Skateboards, bikes, scooters, and rollerblades are welcome! Creation Station: Maker Craft
Maker Craft: Make A "ZINE" on Saturday, January 13, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. It's a New Year and time for a New Craft! Join the MakerSpace staff as we will teach patrons how to design and create a "ZINE." A "ZINE" is short for FANZINE or Fan Magazine that focuses on a fandom (ex. Book Series), specific topic (ex. Plants) or socio/political opinion.
Zines come in many shapes and sizes, but the most important factor is that they are made by hand and then copied for a small circulation of readers. Patrons will have the option to make a 1-Page Mini-Zine or a 2-Sheet 1/4 Size Zine with the help of our technicians and supplies provided.

Staff issued 37 business licenses and collected $8,853.50 for the week of December 10th through December 17th.
Permit Center:
The Hub/Permit Services is open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. To make an appointment or for any questions call (760) 777-7125 or via email at customercenter@laquintaca.gov.
Staff received 108 permit applications and issued 61 permits for the week of December 10th through December 17th.
Permits include building construction, land use and special events, garage sales, public works encroachment, fire system installations and code compliance inspections.
Building:
Completed 68 Plan Reviews and performed 411 Inspections for the week of December 10th through December 17th.
New Development Updates:
The regular Planning Commission meeting of December 26, 2023, has been cancelled. The next regular meeting of the Planning Commission will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
A Special Event Permit for the American Express Tournament has been approved. The event takes place January 15-21, with concerts on Friday, January 19 and Saturday, January 20.
A building permit was issued for construction of a 5,020 square foot single family dwelling within the community of the Hideaway.
Building permits were issued for (7) single family dwellings at the Point Happy community located off Washington Street across from Simon Drive.

- Code Compliance has inspected 107 properties, opened 17 cases, closed 45 cases, issued 19 courtesy notices, 7 notices of violation, 5 final notices of violation, 1 notice of public nuisance, 4 administrative citations, and 254 other actions and handled 41 phone calls.

Active STVR permit holders can access their account 24/7 to complete their monthly TOT reporting online, submit and pay for STVR permit renewals, as well as easily manage their account by using the City’s online STVR portal at: http://laquinta.munirevs.com.
