Tree Lighting Ceremony
Join us at Civic Center Park on Friday, December 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. for some holiday cheer! The City of La Quinta will hold its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony to kick off the holiday season. Bring the entire family for all the festivities, plus a visit from Santa. This event is free, and all are welcome!
2023 IRONMAN 70.3
The Trainual 2023 IRONMAN 70.3 Indian Wells-La Quinta will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023, from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The race starts at Lake Cahuilla and will be going through many streets and by many neighborhoods in La Quinta, until finishing up at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. City Hall Open House

Fred Waring Drive Pavement Rehab – Paving to be completed tomorrow. Contractor will be installing temporary markers to delineate the lane lines for the road to be temporarily opened for the weekend. Road will be striped, and manholes and valves will be adjusted next week.

FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event
Not sure what to do with your Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) like used batteries, medical sharps, electronics, oil and gasoline, light bulbs, aerosol cans, and more? The City is hosting a Free HHW collection event on Saturday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the City Hall South Parking Lot. Short-Term Vacation Rentals
Short-Term Vacation Rental (STVR) information and the weekly STVR Active & Suspended Permit List is available on the City’s website at: https://www.laquintaca.gov/STVR.
Active STVR permit holders can access their account 24/7 to complete their monthly TOT reporting online, submit and pay for STVR permit renewals, as well as easily manage their account by using the City’s online STVR portal at: http://laquinta.munirevs.com.

The Certified Farmers Market will be held on Sunday, December 3, from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in Old Town La Quinta. Bring your reusable grocery bags and your appetite because the Certified Farmers Markets are back, bigger, and better than ever before. Cahuilla Family
Art Piece: Cahuilla Family (2001)
Artist: Felicia Kreig
Location: Point Happy Shopping Plaza
This life-sized bronze fountain of five Cahuilla Indian women with clay pots is located in the Point Happy shopping plaza parking lot, on the Northwest corner of Washington St. and Highway 111. The art piece is set amongst landscaping and fountain area. The sculpture was unveiled in October 2002.

The X Park is open seven days a week! The new hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 12 to 9 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Resident fees are $2 for a daily use pass and $25 for an annual pass. Non-resident fees are $5 for a daily use pass and $50 for an annual pass. Skateboards, bikes, scooters, and rollerblades are welcome! X Park to Host 2023 World WCMX Championships
The La Quinta X Park is proud to host the 2023 World WCMX Championships on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The event will host the top adaptive skateboarding & WCMX (Wheelchair MotoCross) athletes from around the world along with able-bodied skateboarders seeking to display their talents. Championship divisions include WCMX Pro/Open, WCMX Womens, WCMX Am (Youth & Beginners), Adaptive Skateboarding, Adaptive Skateboarding Womens, and Able-bodied skateboarding. The City of La Quinta is excited to announce we have partnered with Tyler Technologies to provide an improved and efficient customer service experience with an advanced online permit software system. The HUB Online Portal provides the City with tools to reduce the need for redundant data input, reduce staff and customer time when assisting the public with permitting and licensing, allow Geographic Information System (GIS) integration. Staff issued 118 business licenses and collected $15,049.60 for the time period of November 12th through November 25th.
Permit Center:
The Hub/Permit Services is open to the public Monday thru Friday from 8:00am - 4:00pm. To make an appointment or for any questions call (760) 777-7125 or via email at customercenter@laquintaca.gov.
Staff received 173 permit applications and issued 128 permits for the time period of November 12th through November 25th.
Permits include building construction, land use and special events, garage sales, public works encroachment, fire system installations and code compliance inspections.

Completed 109 Plan Reviews and performed 684 Inspections for the time period of November 12th through November 25th.

Code Compliance:
- Code Compliance has inspected 77 properties, opened 19 cases, closed 32 cases, issued 14 courtesy notices, 11 notice of violation, 6 final notices of violation, 1 notice of public nuisance, 1 administrative citation, and 87 other actions and handled 43 phone calls.
- Code Compliance has a full-service voicemail system. The mailbox will be monitored regularly. Callers can leave their messages/requests as follows for:
