Police Department
Thank You for Helping Save Lives
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Laguna Beach Police Department's community blood drive on June 23. The response from our community was outstanding and demonstrated the generosity that makes Laguna Beach such a special place.
Hosted in partnership with the American Red Cross, the event welcomed 33 donors, including 8 first time donors, and resulted in the collection of 32 units of blood. Those donations have the potential to help save up to 96 lives in local hospitals.
The event exceeded its collection goal of 23 units and would not have been possible without the commitment of our donors, volunteers, and the American Red Cross team. Whether you were a first time donor or a returning participant, thank you for making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
Police Continue Regional Enforcement of Speeding and Loud Vehicles
On June 20, 2026, the Laguna Beach Police Department led its second regional traffic enforcement operation of the year, partnering with law enforcement agencies from across Orange County to address speeding, loud and modified exhaust systems, and electric bicycle and motorcycle violations. During the operation, officers stopped 105 vehicles and issued 129 citations, including 32 speed related citations and 18 loud exhaust violations.
These coordinated enforcement efforts reflect the Police Department's ongoing commitment to improving public safety and protecting the quality of life in Laguna Beach. Additional regional enforcement operations are planned throughout the remainder of the year as the Department continues to respond to community concerns regarding speeding and excessive vehicle noise.

Projects and Notices in the Community
Be on the Lookout for Scam Emails
The FBI is warning of a nationwide phishing scheme in which criminals impersonate city and county officials to request fraudulent permit fees. These emails can appear legitimate, using real permit information, property addresses, and even the names of government employees.
If you receive an unexpected email requesting payment for a planning, zoning, or building permit: • Verify the sender's email address. • Do not send payment without confirming the request directly with the City. • Be cautious of requests for wire transfers, cryptocurrency, or peer-to-peer payment methods.
Stay vigilant and help protect yourself from fraud. If you believe you've received a fraudulent email, do not respond or click any links.

Promenade Update
Soft Opening of the New Promenade July 3
Bit by bit, the Promenade is coming together and taking its final shape. We are excited to announce a soft opening on July 3 and invite the community to come experience the transformed space.
While a few finishing touches remain, the Promenade is ready to welcome residents and visitors to enjoy its new look, gather with friends and family, and support our local businesses. Construction will continue on the remaining punch list items over the coming weeks, but we wanted to open the space as soon as possible so the community can begin enjoying it during the summer season.
We hope you will stop by, explore the new Promenade, and see the progress firsthand.

Message from the City Manager
As we head into the Independence Day holiday, I want to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Fourth of July. Whether you are spending time with family, gathering with friends, or enjoying all that Laguna Beach has to offer, I hope you have a memorable week.
If you are planning to visit the beach, please make safety your top priority. Ocean conditions may be challenging and can change quickly. Before entering the water, check in with a lifeguard for the latest information on surf and rip current conditions, and always swim near an open lifeguard tower.
This holiday also serves as an important reminder about fire safety. Just over a year ago, the Rancho Fire (which was caused by fireworks) threatened homes, open space, and our community. That incident demonstrated how quickly a single firework can have devastating consequences. Please – do not bring any fireworks into the community, and inform the PD if you see that others have done so. We can’t look the other way here – in advance of the 4th and after the 4th.
Please leave the fireworks to the professionals. The City's annual fireworks show will begin at 9:00 p.m. on July 4 from Monument Point in Heisler Park, providing a spectacular and safe way to celebrate the evening without risking the community.
On behalf of the entire City team, thank you for doing your part to keep Laguna Beach safe. Have a wonderful and happy Fourth of July.
