My office was proud to support and participate in the South Bay Transit Summit, where we joined community members, Metro, South Bay Forward, local cities, and transit agencies to discuss the future of mobility across the South Bay and LA County. Check out this video to hear more about it from our Transportation Deputy, Carolyn Angius.
With the K Line extension to Torrance, the Vermont Bus Rapid Transit project, and plans to connect the A and K Lines, we have a lot to be excited about here in the 2nd District and look forward to these projects providing faster, more reliable, and more accessible transit for all residents
As a Metro Board Director, I appreciate that Metro was present to discuss My Metro Budget, an opportunity for residents to share their priorities and help shape Metro’s budget. Community input for the upcoming budget cycle begins this fall and continues through spring. Stay tuned for ways to participate and Go Metro for Public Transit month!
This week, I joined the California State Association of Counties (CSAC) to discuss the critical role California’s 58 counties play in delivering essential services to our communities.
We welcomed state leaders, including Secretary Xavier Becerra back to LA County for a conversation on issues that directly impact our residents, ranging from the devastating impact of H.R. 1 and strengthening our emergency response, to addressing homelessness. Thank you to CSAC and my fellow Supervisors for helping create space for meaningful dialogue.

It was an honor to join the Goodwill Cooperation Service (GCS) International Los Angeles on sending its 20th delegation to South Korea. Established on the heels of the 1992 Los Angeles civil unrest, GCS has brought together more than 300 leaders from diverse communities to South Korea to build cross-cultural understanding and unity.
These delegations are more than a visit abroad, they’re an opportunity to learn, build relationships, and exchange perspectives on diverse lived experiences. I’m proud that members of my team have participated and are a part of this current cohort.
September is National Senior Center Month! Healthy aging thrives on connection, community, and access to essential resources and that's what LA County’s 13 senior centers provide.
Last year, my office hosted a Racial Justice Learning Exchange at our Willowbrook Senior Center, called “Golden Years, Bright Futures: Empowering Aging Adults & Caregivers.” More than 200 attendees participated in workshops on estate planning, Alzheimer’s awareness, caregiver self-care, and home safety.
Explore the workshops from that event below:
