We want to make sure residents that receive CalFresh benefits are aware of upcoming eligibility changes due to the Trump Administration’s H.R.1 bill also known as “The Big Bill” and have the information they need. Starting April 1, some residents with different immigration statuses and residents navigating the immigration process will no longer be eligible to receive CalFresh benefits. If you are currently receiving CalFresh, your benefits will continue until your next renewal date as long as you meet all other eligibility requirements.
We understand that changes like this are difficult and that it can be hard to stay informed of various updates from the federal government, to help with this, the LA County Department of Public Social Services has a resource page with the latest information about eligibility changes and resources for residents, please visit: dpss.lacounty.gov/en/food/hr1.html
