The Department of Arts and Culture will host SRI to share findings from their recent field scan on Arts Education across California.

CA Arts Education Landscape 2025 is a scan of arts education in California in light of the evolving conditions catalyzed by new funding and policy shifts.

Commissioned by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the report is designed to support funders, advocates, and policymakers as they work to strengthen the conditions for equitable access to a high-quality arts education. Key questions guiding this scan include:
  • Who are the major players influencing arts education in California?
  • What are the key levers shaping implementation of high-quality arts education in California?
  • How has the AMS Act (Prop 28) changed the arts education landscape?

Grant Proposal Writing Training

Cal State LA Downtown Arts Management Certificate Program
As arts organizations face rapid change and increasing pressure on traditional operating models, Cal State LA Downtown is launching a new Arts Management Certificate Program designed to prepare arts leaders to innovate, adapt, and lead with purpose.

Drawing from the region’s vibrant cultural landscape, the program is taught by Los Angeles arts leaders from BroadStage, Center Theatre Group, The Ebell of Los Angeles, LA Opera, Create CA, the Entertainment Community Fund, and the Pasadena Symphony and POPS.

The program centers on change management, positioning learners as forward-thinking leaders equipped to build sustainable, ethical careers while strengthening the organizations and communities they serve.

The certificate program consists of six classes, with the first class beginning Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026

Early Childhood Workshop:
Teaching Dance for Ages 4-8

Students attend the 2015 Arts Internship Program Summit.
Arts and Culture grantees receive professional development SCHOLARSHIPS as part of their OGP, CIAG, and AIP awards!

The Department of Arts and Culture offers scholarships (up to $750 each) to cover registration costs for professional development opportunities such as conferences or workshops for Organizational Grant Program (OGP), Arts Internship Program (AIP), and Community Impact Arts Grant (CIAG) grantee organizations. Your organization must be a current grantee in good standing in order to participate in the scholarship program.

Visit the Professional Development page for full details on how to apply for a scholarship, as well as eligibility requirements. Benefits include up to 5 classes at The Nonprofit Partnership, up to 5 classes at the Center for Nonprofit Management and up to 5 scholarships (maximum $750 each) to be used for other PD opportunities, per organization every grant year.
