Ocean Water Use Warning for

Los Angeles County Beaches

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health cautions residents who are planning to visit the below Los Angeles County beaches to avoid swimming, surfing, and playing in ocean waters:

 

OCEAN WATER CLOSURE LIFTED:

The ocean water closure has been lifted for the following beach area after two consecutive recent ocean water samples met State water quality standards:

  • Inner Cabrillo Beach

 

BEACH AREA WARNINGS:

  • Bel Air Bay Club Storm Drain at Will Rogers State Beach

         100 yards up and down the coast from the club border fence.

  • Redondo Beach Pier at Redondo County Beach

         100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.

  • Santa Monica Canyon Storm Drain at Will Rogers State Beach

         100 yards up and down the coast from the creek.

  • Santa Monica Pier at Santa Monica State Beach

         100 yards up and down the coast from the pier.

  • Escondido Creek at Escondido State Beach

         Entire swim area.

 

These warnings have been issued due to bacterial levels exceeding health standards when last tested.
