Dear Neighbor,
I want to make sure you’re aware of our Let’s Chat for a 2nd constituent engagement series for our unincorporated communities throughout the 2nd District. These in-person and virtual meetings are designed to connect directly with residents - to share updates, hear from you, and work together to address the challenges that disproportionately impact our unincorporated communities.
We recently hosted a Let’s Chat for a 2nd meeting for our Ladera Heights, View Park-Windsor Hills, and Marina del Rey communities. Next up will be Florence-Firestone, Willowbrook and Athens Village. I encourage you to sign-up for updates about upcoming meetings in your community here: bit.ly/LetsChatfora2nd
Thank you to all the residents that have already participated, if you haven’t joined us yet, we look forward to seeing you soon!

As part of our Corridors 2 Community Initiative, where we invest resources and services in small business corridors in unincorporated communities throughout our district - we recently held our first lot activation for the 77th and Central Avenue vacant lot in Florence-Firestone.
We are partnering with Konkuey Design Initiative (KDI) and Florence-Firestone Community Organization (FFCO) to collaborate with residents for the next six months on pop-up events at this lot and to gain insights on their vision for the future of Central Avenue.
As part of this initiative, we are also working with LA Commons and local artists to collect stories and create visual art that reflects and celebrates our Florence-Firestone community.
