  Community Members Celebrated at LADA's Courage Awards in Westchester
 District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman recognized heroic bystanders who made the difficult decision to intervene in the moment of crisis. During the recent Courage Awards at Rotary Club of Westchester, LADA honored:
• Angela Ervin of Long Beach - a woman who shielded the victim of a brutal domestic violence attack at the hands of her family member, sustaining serious injuries while saving the victim's life.
• Ivan Gonzalez Juarez of Signal Hill - a construction worker who jumped into action and apprehended a suspect who stabbed a co-worker unprovoked.
• James Lawrence of San Diego - a convenience store employee who helped stop the kidnapping of a woman and her baby; his quick thinking led to the defendant’s arrest and the victims’ safe rescue.

  Six Charged in 'Operation Sugar Diamond' Probe of Illegal Cannabis Lab Blasts That Killed Five Workers
 District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced that six people were charged as part of a multi-agency investigation dubbed Operation Sugar Diamond that targeted an illegal cannabis extraction business where four people were killed in a fiery explosion at a warehouse in Irwindale in 2023 and another man died at a South El Monte facility last year.

 DA Hochman Joins Mayor, LAPD in Announcing Burglary Ring Bust
 District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman joined Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and Los Angeles Police Department Chief Jim McDonnell to announce the takedown of a burglary crew responsible for dozens of residential burglaries across the county.
The suspects, known as the Rich Rollin Burglary Crew, are linked to home burglaries, mostly in West Los Angeles over the last few years.

 DA Hochman Highlights Ongoing Anti-Human Trafficking Efforts in Coordination With Recent Federal Sex Trafficking Indictment
 District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman commends the outstanding work of the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Los Angeles Police Department, and other federal and state law enforcement agencies in securing a federal 31-count indictment against six members and associates of the South Los Angeles-based Hoover Criminal Gang.
The defendants were charged with racketeering conspiracy, including sex trafficking of children and adults through force, fraud, or coercion on the Figueroa Corridor of Los Angeles.
