One hundred days after Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman took office, we are highlighting key accomplishments that have already made a lasting impact on public safety and the administration of justice.
“March 13, 2025, was my 100th day in office,” District Attorney Hochman said. “I want to share some of the progress we’ve made as we work to restore trust, enhance public safety, and ensure justice is served. I want to further thank the amazing men and women of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for their fantastic commitment, experience, and dedication to the mission of justice. These first 100 days have been an incredible journey. We’ve taken significant steps toward a safer, more just Los Angeles County. But this is just the beginning. DA Hochman Announces Felony Charges Against Trio in Major Fentanyl Bust
District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman announced that felony charges were filed against three individuals — including two siblings — accused of possessing a total of more than 50 pounds of fentanyl with an intent to sell.
“Fentanyl remains the leading cause of death in accidental drug overdose cases in Los Angeles County,” District Attorney Hochman said. “Just one kilo of fentanyl has the potential to kill 500,000 people. A 50-pound seizure of fentanyl is greater than all the fentanyl seized at the U.S.-Canadian border in 2024, which was 43 pounds. We will be unrelenting in our pursuit to end this tragedy and bring justice to the countless families who have lost loved ones to fentanyl.”

After Decline in Child Homicides, DA Hochman Discusses Further Safeguarding Our Children
Child homicides in LA County have dropped by more than 70% over the past 30 years, according to a report by the Inter-Agency Council on Child Abuse and Neglect (ICAN). This significant decline may be attributed in part to the critical work of the council, which brings together law enforcement, medical professionals, social services, and more — all united in the fight to end child abuse.
District Attorney Hochman, co-chair of ICAN’s Policy Committee alongside Sheriff Robert G. Luna, met with leaders from across the county to review action items and discuss new recommendations to further protect our children.
