From the Los Angeles Riverbed to Safety
The latest LA County Pathway Home encampment resolution moved 26 individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness from multiple areas along the Los Angeles River in South Gate into safe interim housing, where they are now on a path to housing stability. This operation is the sixth operation to use funds from a $51 million state Encampment Resolution Fund (ERF) grant awarded to the County in 2024.
More than 200 people experiencing homelessness are now indoors within the first year of the three-year effort co-funded by ERF and local sales tax revenues.

Women-Focused Program in Skid Row Makes Remarkable Progress
March is Women’s History Month, and we are proud to highlight a program that supports women experiencing homelessness.
Launched in 2021 and run in partnership with multiple County departments, the Downtown Women's Center, and LAHSA, the Every Woman Housed program is designed to meet the unique needs of women experiencing homelessness. To date, it has connected 1,147 women and gender-diverse people and 100 families with safe interim housing. Of those, 614 individuals and 57 families are now in permanent homes.
