 PCH Reopens to Residents, Essential Businesses and School Buses; Other Roads Fully Reopen
Caltrans has expanded access of PCH to Palisades and Malibu residents, essential businesses and school bus traffic Thursday. Residents, school bus traffic, essential business owners and workers will be allowed to access PCH. PCH remains closed to general traffic, and only essential travel is recommended.
Also, Los Angeles County announced that four County-maintained roads fully reopened Thursday, restoring critical connectivity for the County unincorporated community of Topanga Canyon. The reopening of Piuma Road, Rambla Pacifico Street, Schueren Road, and Saddle Peak Road will provide viable alternative routes for residents and commuters while Tuna Canyon Road remains closed.

Right of Entry By the Numbers: A Step-By-Step Guide to the Debris Removal Process
Los Angeles County Public Works has received nearly 9,000 Right of Entry (ROE) forms from property owners affected by the Palisades and Eaton fires. As the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues its second week of Phase II debris removal, LA County wants to provide ROE applicants a step-by-step guide to the process—from ROE submission to property owner notification of debris removal. The online Right of Entry form is available for those opting into the government-sponsored debris removal program. Submit the form here. The form also is available in Spanish, Russian, Armenian, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
If you have not yet submitted your opt-in form, please do so as soon as possible to take advantage of this debris removal program by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at no out-of-pocket cost to you. The deadline is March 31, 2025.

For those who opt-out: Property owners who choose to hire private contractors for fire debris removal can now receive a permit that allows home and business owners and their authorized private contractors to manage their own debris removal efforts while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety and environmental standards.

EPA StoryMap Site Provides Additional Information on Hazardous Removal Staging Areas
The EPA, which is conducting Phase 1 household hazardous material removal to fire-burned areas, has added details about the process to their StoryMap website, including information about staging areas for sorting materials.
