Dear Neighbor,
As Los Angeles County continues to face multiple active wildfires, our top priority remains ensuring the safety of residents and getting critical resources to those experiencing devastating losses. For information on evacuation areas, shelters, road closures, and the latest LA County/City press conference updates, visit the county's online hub at lacounty.gov/emergency/. For updates on recovery resources and county services for those affected by the fires, visit recovery.lacounty.gov/resources/.
A mandatory curfew is in place from 6:00pm to 6:00am for all areas that have received evacuation orders and warnings tied to the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires. Let's help protect our loved ones and reduce street traffic for emergency vehicles and personnel by following curfew orders. To see if a specific address is in an evacuation area, visit Genasys Protect.
Red Flag Weather Warnings are in effect for parts of Los Angeles and Ventura County. High winds are expected to continue through the middle of this week and can cause critical fire weather conditions and power outages. I've added info on addressing power outages and other resources on my website here: mitchell.lacounty.gov/windstorm-wildfire-resources/.
We will continue to work together as we navigate this natural disaster. Below is information about in-person FEMA and insurance support available this week, along with additional wildfire resources and information for all those affected.
Sincerely, Holly J. Mitchell Supervisor, Second District
