Our January 9th Hybrid Commission Meeting has been cancelled
We have cancelled our January 9th commission meeting in solidarity with the Federal Government's National Day of Mourning throughout the United States in honor of former President James Earl Carter.
Our next meeting is Thursday, February 6th.

Join us for updates from the Probation Department and the Probation Oversight Commission on the following topics:

The Probation Department’s progress in bringing Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall into compliance with BSCC.

Progress the Department has made in updating their policy and practices in conformance with the Prison Rape Eimination Act (PREA)

A report on the POC’s analysis of data received from the Probation Department on racial and ethnic demographics, geography, charges, and DCFS involvement.

Updates on the POC committees looking into relationship between Probation and Community-Based Organizations and issues with K-12 and post-secondary education in the juvenile facilities.
The Probation Oversight Commission will host a town hall dedicated to learning more about the Juvenile Transfer Motion Hearing process.
This process occurs when the District Attorney elects to ask the court to transfer the youth’s case from the juvenile system into the adult criminal system.

- L.A. County Public Defender
- Office of Youth and Community Restoration
An expert in juvenile criminal law will provide a foundational explanation of the law and changes to the law with Prop 57 and subsequent legislation.
