da-nl20241107-Cannabis

LADA’s Cannabis Campaign with the L.A. County Department of Public Health and Office of Education includes billboards and bus stop ads to educate teenagers and parents on the risks of new generations of cannabis products.

“Today’s cannabis products such as edibles can carry serious short-and long-term mental health risks for our youth, including anxiety, depression, and potentially psychotic disorders, leading to negative outcomes with a far-reaching impact on communities,” said District Attorney Gascón.

The multi-language billboards and bus stop ads can be found throughout L.A. County near high schools and in areas teenagers frequent. The eye-catching visuals will also be shared to social media.

da-nl20241107-Womens AB

District Attorney George Gascón announced the creation of the office’s first-ever Women’s Advisory Board, the seventh advisory board established to foster open dialogue and build more inclusive, trusted, and secure relationships with communities across the county.

“Women encounter specific and deeply rooted challenges in our justice system—as victims, survivors, and sometimes as individuals navigating the justice system themselves,” District Attorney Gascón said. “Together, we aim to create solutions that protect, uplift, and empower women, building safer, more resilient communities for all.”

The Women’s Advisory Board was sworn in on Oct. 24 at the Hall of Justice. Members will convene regularly to advise on pressing issues, ensuring that gender equity consistently informs the office's strategies. This board represents a dedicated step toward policies that reflect the diverse needs of our communities, prioritizing resilience, equity, and safer futures for everyone.
