Your Annual Flu and COVID-19 Vaccine Is Ready!
It’s that time of the year again to get vaccinated against influenza (flu) and COVID-19. Vaccines for these viruses are needed each year because the viruses are always changing. Every year, medical experts and scientists review and change the vaccine to target the most common strains. This makes the vaccines as effective as possible.
Set yourself up for a healthy respiratory virus season:
-
Get vaccinated early
- According to the CDC, October is the best time to get vaccinated, because it balances peak immunity with peak respiratory virus season.
-
Keep an eye out for symptoms
-
Common flu and COVID-19 symptoms include fever, chills, fatigue (tiredness), cough, runny nose, sore throat, vomiting, change in or loss of taste or smell, headache, body aches, diarrhea, and/or muscle weakness.
-
Avoid close contact with those who are sick
-
If you can’t stay away from someone who is sick, consider wearing a protective face mask. A face mask can help lower the spread of germs.
-
Keep your clinic’s phone number nearby
- Your doctor’s office is always ready to answer questions or schedule an appointment. This can help make sure you get the care you need as quickly as possible.
