Under the Trafficking and Crime Victim Assistance Program (TCVAP), eligible noncitizen victims of human trafficking, domestic violence, and other serious crimes may apply for benefits like cash aid, food assistance, healthcare, help with employment, and supportive services. DPSS CELEBRATES HEALTHY LIVING AT KJLH WOMEN’S HEALTH EXPO

Visit the DPSS CalFresh information booth this Saturday, May 11, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the KJLH 102.3 FM Women’s Health Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. The event will feature a live radio broadcast from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. to open the expo, breakout sessions, healthy dish stage, exercise zone, free massages and health screenings, prizes, giveaways and more. The event will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd.  The event is FREE and open to the public. Register today at KJLH Women’s Health Expo Registration.

The L.A. County Community Action Board (CAB) invites residents to join the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) meeting on Thursday, May 16. Help represent the interests of low-income households in need of services. The meeting will be held at two in-person locations: Department of Public Social Services, 12801 Crossroads Parkway South, City of Industry, CA 91746 (2nd Floor Conference Room #215); and Lawndale Public Library, 14615 Burin Ave., Lawndale, CA 90260 (Meeting Room). The Los Angeles County Youth Commission is inviting the next generation of leaders to share ideas on how the commission can support and develop effective policies, practices, and services important to young people in L.A. County’s Second Supervisorial District. This listening session will take place on Saturday, May 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Compton Youthbuild, 1108 N. Oleander Ave. in Compton.
