Hahn Reappoints Wilmington Community Leader to LA County Commission for Children and Families
Los Angeles, CA -- Today, Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn reappointed Wilmington resident and community leader Eli Romero to the County's Commission for Children and Families. Romero has over ten years of direct experience in economic and workforce development and child welfare in the Harbor area.
“I am proud to be allowed to continue to sit on the commission and to uplift the needs of children, youth, and families in the fourth supervisorial district and the county overall. Ensuring the safety, connection, and support of young people is imperative to the collective success of Los Angeles," said Romero.
In 2017, Romero launched Listo, a consultancy specializing in strategic planning, fund development, project management, program development, and training on equity and inclusion. He currently serves as Workforce Development Officer for the City of Long Beach, overseeing strategic investments in job training, business development, and community engagement.
"Serving as a safety net for at-risk children and their families is some of the most important work we do, so we need to be able to count on experienced, knowledgeable commissioners. Eli brings that to the commission,” said Hahn. "He has proven himself to be a leader in more ways than one and we'll have his input again."
The Commission for Children and Families advises the Board of Supervisors on strengthening service delivery systems and enhancing partnerships to create safer and more secure futures for Los Angeles County’s at-risk children and their families.
