Order and Administration Reminders

  • UPDATE: No small orders will be delivered on Friday, November 11th, in observance of Veterans Day. The November Holiday Delivery Schedule can be found here.
  • UPDATE: Beginning Tuesday, November 15th, all inquiries regarding MyTurn and myCAvax should be directed to their new help desk email addresses: Clinic.HD@cdph.ca.gov and myCAvax.HD@cdph.ca.gov. On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, the existing Accenture email will auto-reply and direct you to contact the new CDPH email addresses. After Thursday, December 15, 2022, the Accenture Help Desk email will be permanently disabled.
  • Please place all orders in myCAvax on or before the Monday 11/14 5pm deadline.
  • Please place orders before the week of Thanksgiving (week of November 21st). If you place an order the week of Thanksgiving, you may not receive the order until December.

Vaccine Marketplace Reminder

With bivalent products and monovalent products in demand, this is a reminder that the Vaccine Marketplace is a great space for all providers to share excess doses of all vaccine types. For those of you who may need a refresher on what the marketplace is link here  or how to post, there is an interactive provider guide CDPH has released link here

Short-dated Monovalent Vaccines

  • Moderna has submitted a request to the FDA for a shelf-life extension for monovalent vaccines. Please quarantine and continue to store those vaccines.
  • Pfizer will submit a request to the FDA for a shelf-life extension of their Orange (5 years-11 years) and Gray Cap (12 years+) presentations.
  • The goal is to prevent a supply gap for any of these vaccines.
  • Discussions begin in January 2023 to approve bivalent primary doses. ETA Q1 or Q2.

Pfizer Vaccine Product Updates

  • As expiry dates for the Pfizer Orange Cap product (Pfizer 5yrs—11yrs) near (November 2022), we’d like to remind providers to monitor their Pfizer Orange Cap inventories. Please ensure you’re utilizingthe Pfizer expiry checker (https://lotexpiry.cvdvaccine.com/) and ordering small quantities often to get the longest shelf life.
  • Pfizer Single Dose Vials
    • Coming the week after Thanksgiving
    • Pfizer Bivalent Booster (12+)
    • 50 dose minimum order
    • Shipping storage and handling the same
    • Except ancillary kits – discontinued over time.

COVID-19 Vaccine Product Expiry Tool Websites

  • Many lots of Pfizer and Moderna are expiring in the coming weeks
    • Pay close attention to the expiration dates of your vaccines
    • Always double check expiration date before administering the vaccine
    • Always quarantine or dispose of any expired vaccine so that it does not get accidentally administered

COVID-19 Therapeutics

  • CDPH Test to Treat updated playbook can be found here.
  • Free Delivery of Paxlovid Through Walgreens
    • Walgreens announced free prescription delivery of Paxlovid, through partnership with DoorDash and Uber Health.
    • The initiative will prioritize access to free delivery of Paxlovid for patients with a prescription who are in socially vulnerable or medically underserved communities.
  • Bebtelovimab Shelf-Life Extension
    • Bebtelovimab has received a shelf-life extension from 18 mos. to 24 mos.
    • No link yet to the specific lots on the ASPR or FDA website
  • Molnupiravir Shelf-life Extension

My Turn Release 33

  • CMs will be unable to edit/create appointments, create clinics, or add new Monovalent Booster supply.
  • VAs will be able to mark that a patient has health insurance but does not want to provide information during the walk-in flow.
  • VAs will be able to add Novavax Monovalent Booster appointments during walk-flow and using bulk upload.
  • CMs and VAs will be able to view two new columns, brand and dose, in the list view under the IIS Status tab.
  • CMs and VAs will view job aids in new categories in the Knowledge Center and access updated links embedded into the clinic portal.
  • VAs, when filtering for appointments via the Appointments tab, will no longer see age in the brand filter dropdown.

myCAvax Release 32

  • Providers will be able to scroll through the available list of products on the New Transfer page and select the required product for a vaccine transfer.
  • Providers will only be able to enter and save whole numbers when providing the Total Doses Wasted for creating a new waste event.
