Each November, Caregiver Action Network (CAN) spearheads National Family Caregivers Month, which recognizes and honors the essential contributions of family caregivers to their loved ones in need. Family caregivers are the primary source of support for older adults and people with disabilities. Many caregivers must balance the demands of work with their caregiving responsibilities. The goals of this observance include raising awareness of caregiving issues, providing education to communities, and increasing support for caregivers. Providing resources and education for caregivers has been shown to decrease their levels of stress, depression, and anxiety and allows them to provide care longer. Find tips and resources on family caregivers at the CAN website: https://www.caregiveraction.org/national-family-caregivers-month.
