Sheriff Villanueva Honors LASD Medal of Valor Recipients

On Thursday, October 27, 2022, Sheriff Villanueva recognized 24 Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department  members for their heroic actions during the annual Valor Awards Ceremony. These medals are awarded  to Department members who perform acts of bravery or heroism, above and beyond the call of duty, to save the lives of others while placing their own lives at risk.

In 1982, the Department Valor Awards Program was established to officially and publicly recognize the exceptionally heroic acts performed by LASD members. These awards highlight courage, acts of heroism while saving the life of another, traumatic physical injury while performing their job, preservation of human life, personal commitment, and sacrifice to help others.

Sheriff Villanueva Attends 2nd Annual Fix'N Fidos Golf Tournament 

October 23, 2022

On Sunday, October 23, 2022, Sheriff Alex Villanueva and LASD personnel joined KTLA 5 Reporter, Kacey Montoya in the 2nd Annual Fix'N Fidos Golf Tournament and Dog Costume Contest which was held at Industry Hills Golf Club in City of Industry.

Fentanyl Pills Seizure at LAX

October 19, 2022

On October 19, 2022, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department- Narcotics Bureau Detectives and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) agents assigned to a task force at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) seized approximately 12,000 suspected fentanyl pills.

LASD CAC First Prayer Breakfast

October 17, 2022 

On Monday, October 17, 2022, the LASD Community Advisory Council (CAC) hosted their first Interfaith prayer breakfast, with special guest Sheriff Villanueva and many other dignitaries. Many religious leaders of diverse cultures from across Los Angeles County met to discuss public safety and societal challenges and showed their support for the men and women of LASD. The event was a remarkable one that brought everyone together in prayer.
