APPLICATION FOR LEAP COHORT 9
Due Date: November 18, 2022, 11:59 PM (PDT)
|
|
|
ABOUT LEAP
While women of color leaders have been instrumental to the development of the movement to end gender-based violence, we are frequently met with barriers to professional growth and achievement in executive leadership positions. This underrepresentation of women of color leaders in the communities we serve, impedes our ability to provide culturally specific services and education, and ultimately, the ability to grow thriving, violence free communities.
The LEAP (Leadership Education and Advancement for Professionals) Project is designed to be an interactive distance learning and comprehensive training and practicum experience with topics ranging from program development, working with boards, to finances and budgets. As a cohort member, LEAP Fellows will develop and enhance leadership and management skills to enable them to take upon and succeed in leadership/management roles in their organizations and in the movement to end gender-based violence.
Join a community of over 100 thought leaders and women in executive positions who are ready to build on their strengths and advance the movement to prevent and end gender-based violence.
ABOUT THE APPLICATION
Complete the google form, including a descriptive cover letter, resume, and the contact information for your executive director/direct supervisor and/or Board President or Chair.
Please submit PDF attachments for the resume and cover letter, titled, “FullName-Resume” and “FullName-CoverLetter.” Include your name and preferred pronouns on all documents.
Address the following in your cover letter:
1. Why would you like to be a LEAP Fellow and what do you hope to gain (i.e. outcomes) from participating in the LEAP Cohort? Include your career and/or professional goals.
2. What does leadership mean to you? Please briefly highlight the skills and experience you will bring/share with your LEAP Cohort.
3. How do you think LEAP will help you address challenges and barriers you experience in your leadership role and improve your capacity to lead in the movement to end gender-based violence?
4. How would the development of your leadership translate into building organizational capacity to provide services, support, and/or education to under-resourced, minoritized communities? (e.g. Black, Indigenous, & People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQI+ communities, persons with disabilities, immigrant/refugee communities, older adults, youth, etc.)
