LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles County Department of Public Health and Supervisor Hilda L. Solis will launch National Public Health Week and the County’s new two-year demonstration project – Early Needs Response to Infant and Child Health (ENRICH). ENRICH is a model of peer-to-peer support in which highly trained “Family Partners” with lived experience help children or family members with developmental delays assist parents and caregivers access services needed for their children with mild to moderate developmental delays.
Dr. Barbara Ferrer and Sup. Solis will discuss how the environmental impact of Exide Technologies’ toxic waste led to ENRICH, and the public health role in environmental and health mitigation and remediation strategies.
A panel discussion with partners is also scheduled and will be moderated by Dr. Ferrer.
