Greetings ARDI Departmental Executive Team Leads and Equity Action Team members,
In this newsletter, we are providing additional guidance following our joint Executive Team Lead and Equity Action Team Quarterly Meeting as well as the Policies, Procedures and Practices (PPPs) training sessions conducted over the past two weeks. Included below are a few key updates on the internal strategic plan listening sessions to engage the County workforce during the public comment period.
Follow Up from ARDI Quarterly Meeting
On March 8th, 2022, we hosted a quarterly meeting with ARDI Executive Team Leads & Equity Action Team members to provide key updates and introduce the strategic initiatives developed by the Planning & Data workgroup aligned with the five identified life course outcomes. We are asking departments to provide feedback on the strategic initiatives by Tuesday, March 22, 2022. To aid in this process, we developed the attached guidance and summary documents. We are asking departments to submit one survey response per Equity Action Team for this initial round of feedback. You can also find the modified survey here. Upon the release of the draft Racial Equity Strategic Plan, departments will have additional opportunities to provide feedback and suggest additional changes. Meeting materials, including the above documents, recording and deck, can be found on ARDI’s SharePoint site (in the Documents-Equity Action Teams folder).
Policies, Procedures and Practices (PPPs) Technical Assistance Sessions
More than 20 departments participated in one of the four Policies, Procedures and Practices (PPPs) training sessions held over these past two weeks and were introduced to the tools for assessing current and proposed PPPs. Training materials, including the training recording, deck, and FAQs, are located on ARDI’s SharePoint site (in the Documents-Training Materials folder).
During the month of April. ARDI will provide technical assistance sessions and offer guidance on how to best approach the completion of your PPP analysis. Please work with your Equity Action Team to select you preferred option for a 30-minute session as well as identify the specific issue(s) your team intends to focus on. You can select a time here. If needed, we ask that you sign up for a technical assistance session by Friday, March 25, 2022 so we can plan to accommodate as many departments as possible.
In addition to these technical assistance sessions, the ARDI team is available to offer ongoing support to Departments to assess current and proposed decisions and actions and implement needed changes. This support includes training, coaching, and assistance in identifying needed data. Please email the ARDI team at race-equity@ceo.lacounty.gov to let us know if you would like to receive additional support.
Save the Dates: Internal Sessions for the Racial Equity Strategic Plan
We are excited about our upcoming release of the Countywide Racial Equity Strategic Plan. We are engaging a robust group of stakeholders between now and the public comment period occurring in April. We intend to reach a diverse cross-section of stakeholders to vet, prioritize, and provide feedback on the plan’s North Star goal target(s), guiding principles, population metrics, and strategic initiatives to reach outcome targets. Please save the following dates and plan to invite your departmental staff to join:
- Monday, April 4th: 11:00AM-1:00PM
- Wednesday, April 6th: 10:00AM-12:00PM
- Monday, April 11th: 10:00AM-12:00PM
A flyer with registration links will be sent in a separate email. We ask that you work with your Equity Action Teams to help distribute and communicate about this upcoming effort.
If you have any additional questions or need further clarity, please feel free to be in touch with me directly and I'd be more than happy to respond.
In justice,
