Stay Up to Date with Your Vaccines

  • Fully vaccinated means a person has received their primary series of COVID-19 vaccines.
  • Up to date means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any additional primary or booster dose(s) when eligible.
    • The recommendations will be different depending on your age, your health status, and when you first got vaccinated.
    • Please note that individuals previously infected with COVID-19 can receive vaccine (including a booster dose) once their acute illness has resolved and they have completed isolation.
  • A COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility guide can be found here.
  • Recent publications have shown that boosters are a powerful tool to prevent hospitalizations and deaths. We encourage all providers to contact their patients who are 5 years of age and older to strongly recommend that they remain up to date on the COVID-19 vaccination

Updated recommendations for those with COVID-19 vaccinations from outside of the United States

  • The January 6, 2022, Update of the CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Clinical Guidance includes additional recommendations for people that have received a vaccine outside of the U.S.
  • Persons who received only the first of a WHO-listed COVID-19 vaccine that is not FDA-approved or FDA-authorized do not need to restart a primary vaccination series in the U.S.
  • They should receive a single dose of a Pfizer vaccine at least 28 days after receipt of their first dose, after which they are considered fully vaccinated.
  • The current WHO list of vaccines for emergency use includes:
    • Pfizer-BioNTech
    • AstraZeneca-Oxford
    • Janssen (J&J)
    • Moderna
    • Sinopharm-BIBP
    • Sinovac-CoronaVac
    • Bharat Biotech International
    • Novavax
