How to Make a COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment: Food Industry

Environmental Health

Dear All,

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health strongly recommends all food and agricultural workers get vaccinated.  COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and free to all eligible persons.

All on-site workers in food service, restaurants, grocery stores, farms, food manufacturing/processing plants, food warehouses and distribution networks are eligible for vaccination.

There are currently three COVID-19 vaccines approved by the FDA under Emergency Use Authorization. All three vaccines are highly effective at preventing severe disease, hospitalization and death from COVID-19. The best vaccine is the one available to you.

Vaccines are available in many different locations:

County-run MegaPODs (point of dispensing sites) or other large vaccination sites, pharmacies, hospitals, and community clinics listed on VaccinateLACounty.com

  • Mobile vaccination clinics in partnership with worker unions, community-based organizations, and trade associations
  • Food and Agricultural businesses in the City of Vernon are being vaccinated at their workplace or in mobile units by Stacy Medical/City of Vernon
  • Albertsons, Vons, Pavilions, Costco, and Ralphs are offering vaccines to in-store, food distribution, and transport workers who are part of their grocery/pharmacy chains
  • Some healthcare providers are offering vaccine – find out if your provider has vaccine by viewing the list of facilities and providers on the VaccinateLACounty.com appointment page or contact your doctor.

We have attached a document with instructions on how to book an appointment through www.vaccinatelacounty.com

Although second dose vaccination appointments for this upcoming week will be prioritized at the county-run Mega-PODS, Monday appointments will be open to all eligible groups.

Food and agricultural workers have been critical in supporting our food supply during this time of crisis. COVID-19 vaccination is an important tool to help us get back to normal.

Please continue to check the website for updates on vaccine sites and appointments availability.

Kind regards,
