LASD OPERATION HOMEBOUND: AIMING TO VACCINATE HOMEBOUND RESIDENTS AGAINST COVID-19

On January 7, 2021, Sheriff Alex Villanueva set into motion a plan to have Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff’s, who are certified Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), to provide vaccines to those in LA County who are homebound.  After approval from the Governor, LASD launched “Operation Homebound.” LASD Deputy Sheriffs are providing in-home vaccinations to seniors and persons with disabilities who cannot commute to a vaccination clinic...READ MORE AND VIEW VIDEO

LASD HOSTED THE FIRST OF 8  COVID-19 CLINICS OFFERED TO EMPLOYEES

In a race against this pandemic, Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) hosted the first COVID-19 mobile vaccination clinic. The first of eight clinics offered to LASD employees (sworn, professional staff, and reserves). These clinics will free up the Department of Public Health (DPH) responsibility of vaccinating LASD's 18,000 employees, allowing DPH to focus on LA County's underserved communities...VIEW VIDEO
