Continued Surge in COVID Cases & Hospitalizations

Don't Make this Your Home for the Holidays

We are experiencing an explosive and very deadly surge and there is urgency in our request that we all do everything in our power to slow transmission and prevent more suffering.

Although the first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines has arrived, this virus is still very much with us and continues to devastate lives throughout our county and completely overwhelm our hospital care system. Hospital capacity is decreasing to alarming levels and our healthcare workers are pushed to the limits— this affects every single person living and working in LA County since we all depend on being able to get essential hospital services when we need them.

Every hour, on average, 2 of our neighbors, family members and friends are dying from COVID-19 and the virus is rampant in our neighborhoods. We have the most difficult road in front of us and we encourage everyone to stay home as much as possible, protect your families and friends and take every precaution available to you. Unless we remain more diligent through the holidays - and beyond – we will not be able to stop the surge and provide essential relief to our hospitals and healthcare workers.

Find ways you can spread this important message with your community, by downloading and sharing graphics, gifs and copy from our extensive social toolkit.

Combating Hunger in L.A. County

Free food with a side of hope

No one should go hungry, especially during the holidays. If you need help, please know that Los Angeles County is working hard to support you and your family during the pandemic.

You are not alone. Nearly 1 in 4 residents has faced food insecurity due to job losses and economic uncertainty brought on by the COVID crisis. Whether it’s connecting you to a local food pantry or helping you enroll for monthly food benefits, we are committed to keeping you and your family fed.

County agencies and nonprofits are collaborating to put a celebratory meal on your table this holiday season. We all need to look out for each other during this difficult time. We not only want to bring you food, we want to bring you hope. Better days are coming. Until they do, we’ve got your back.

COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certification Program

Compliance

LA County is helping train businesses on the implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols through a no-cost online training course called the COVID-19 Safety Compliance Certification Program (CSCCP). Once completed, business owners receive a certificate, and window seal to display on their storefront, which can reassure employees and customers alike that the business is following COVID-19 infection control and physical distancing requirements.

If you have not yet completed the CSCCP course or want to learn more about it, visit publichealth.lacounty.gov/eh/covid19cert.htm. Help support your employees, customers, and community while on the Road to Recovery.
