UPLIFTING THE WELLBEING OF IMMIGRANT OLDER ADULTS AND FAMILIES
Los Angeles County is working around the clock to help our residents overcome the ravaging impact the coronavirus pandemic has inflicted on all of our communities. The County is working to ensure that all residents, particularly our most vulnerable who have been traditionally precluded from essential services, gain access to resources they need to safeguard their wellbeing, which includes services that promote food security and COVID-19 testing and care.
As the County continues in its recovery stages, everyone will be asked to adhere to safety protocols: physical distancing, wearing cloth face coverings, and frequent hand washing. It is also essential to remember that senior citizens and individuals with underlying health conditions are at a much greater risk for hospitalization due to COVID-19.
We all share a goal and responsibility to control the coronavirus pandemic. The County needs the help of trusted partners like the media and community organizations to inform immigrant senior citizens and families about wraparound services available for them.

The Great Plates Delivered Program. A program that expands the County’s capacity to help older adults and others at high risk from COVID-19 to stay home and stay healthy by delivering them three nutritious meals a day.

Federal Communication Commission rules under Section 255 of the Communications Act require telecommunications service providers to make their products and services accessible to people with disabilities, if such access is readily achievable. Where access is not readily achievable, service providers must make their devices and services compatible with peripheral devices and specialized customer premises equipment that are commonly used by people with disabilities, if such compatibility is readily available.
