Massive Search Party and Multiple Agencies Rally to Rescue 73-Year Old Hiker Who Had Been Missing for a Week

A 73-year-old man has been found alive one week after he went missing while on a hike near Mount Waterman in the Angeles National Forest. There was no sign of Jo until about 11 a.m. Saturday, when he was spotted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Altadena Search and Rescue Team.

Shooting Throughout Compton Streets Leaves Deputy Injured, One Bystander Dead, and One Suspect Outstanding

Deputies had first responded to a report of a reckless DUI suspect, which led to a pursuit that ended near West Spruce Street in Compton. Sheriff's officials said shots were fired, with the suspects firing at deputies during the chase and at the sheriff's helicopter. The suspect vehicle had "aftermarket bulletproof glass" and armor, authorities said.

Woman Sentenced After Pleading No Contest to Strangling Her Own Grandmother

A woman from Bell pleaded no contest to strangling her grandmother in 2016 and then running to Mexico with her three children. Sarah Montoya was sentenced to 26 years for voluntary manslaughter and three counts of kidnapping for taking her children without their father's permission. Prosecutors say Sarah Montoya simply "snapped" and killed her grandmother.

Four Days of La Puente Shootings- 6 Shot, 3 Killed

A man was killed in a shooting in La Puente on Monday, the third fatal shooting in the city in the last four days. The shooting follows two other incidents over the weekend, and it is unknown if any of the three shootings are related.
