Sheriff's Bomb Squad Responds After Suspicious Package Found Near Whittier Planned Parenthood

The bomb squad's robot approached a cardboard box on a sidewalk about 9:15 a.m. and appeared to remove several sheets of paper from inside. About 45 minutes later, police announced that no explosive device had been found and lifted the evacuation orders.

Distressed Woman Climbs Power Pole in South LA

Earlier this week, deputies assigned to LASD’s Parks Bureau responded to Jesse Owens Park to help a young woman who appeared to be in mental distress. The young woman apparently climbed high up on a power pole near the baseball field.
