LA County Jail Inmate Describes Deputy's Efforts to Save His Life.

On April 4, 2019 Deputy Fernandez was working at the Inmate Reception Center providing inmate safety and security like any other day, when he heard banging on a cell door and responded to establish what was going on inside a cell. When he arrived he saw nurse and Deputy Personnel surrounding the inmate.

The search continues for Alora Benitez, 15, who was last seen Wednesday morning in Torrance. She was last seen with her mother and a man who are wanted suspects in a Carson murder investigation.

April 27: Prescription Drug Take-Back Day in SCV, Nationwide

In the Santa Clarita Valley, community members may drop off unwanted medications at the SCV Sheriff’s Station, 23740 Magic Mountain Parkway, Valencia 91355.  Residents are encouraged to bring unwanted or expired prescription medications for safe disposal. No liquids will be accepted.

Inmates ensure each day is Earth Day at Pitchess

Inmates taking part in the nursery and farming programs at the jail get a chance to spend about five hours every day growing fruit and veggies, learning about recycling and composting, and all about farming basics.
