L.A. County Supervisor Solis and Public Defender Ricardo Garcia Spotlight Criminal Record Clearing Project - Innovative Mobile Outreach Program to Combat and Prevent Homelessness
WHAT: Los Angeles County officials will share highlights and significant progress of the L.A. County Criminal Record Clearing Project, which launched one-stop mobile expungement events earlier this year as part of the L.A. County Homeless Initiative. This new model builds on the Public Defender’s legal clinics held throughout the county. It gives individuals experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness the opportunity to engage in legal services onsite at Homeless Connect days and outreach events and resolve outstanding infractions and associated warrants, which are often barriers to housing, employment, education and legal immigration.
