5-Year Old Girl Stops at LASD During Her Cross-Country Lemonade Fundraiser in Support of Fallen Officers

Theresa Ann Babcock, age 5, was at the Hall of Justice in Los Angeles on Tuesday raising money for families of fallen officers as part of her "Supporting Law Enforcement" tour.

From Destruction 2 Construction: Annual Gun Melt Event Turns Weapons into Rebar for Highway Repairs

Thousands of pounds of metal were processed in the Gerdau Melt Shop at an intense 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit and remolded into new shapes for upgrading local roads, highways, and bridges. The weapons included handguns, rifles and automatic weapons collected in criminal investigations and probation seizures, and guns turned in by citizens.

LASD Continues Tradition of Participating In Special Olympics Plane Pull, with Goal of Raising $2M by 2020

Check out a preview of the Saturday, August 18th, 2018 Special Olympics SoCal Plane Pull at Long Beach Airport. This an important fundraiser for the non-profit organization, where teams compete to see which group can pull a 124,000 pound FedEx jet the fastest. In 2017, this event raised more than $151,000 for Special Olympics Southern California.
